about the author

At 15, Phoebe decided that it was time for her to learn Spanish and the ways of the world, first hand. She left later that year to go abroad for a year to a small, rural town in Panama to attend agricultural trade school in a Spanish-only environment. Five years later, she still will pick the difficult option for the sake of the challenge and continues to seek out international connections.

After many years of different schools and unschooling, she attended the University of Arizona for a year, before she found the place she belongs. Phoebe is now 20, and attends Minerva, a truly not fake institution of higher education that will shape the way we teach. For more on Minerva…

You’ll find Phoebe reading fiction, telling overly intricate stories, living for the present, and playing music. Currently, she is exploring innovative problem solving in education and government, San Francisco, and comics.
